HySpex SWIR-320m-e
The SWIR-320m-e possesses most of the specifications from the m-model. However, the spectral range has been extended to cover 1 to 2.5 micron/m, meaning that the interesting wavelengths from 0.4 to 2.5 micron/m can be covered by two HySpex cameras. SWIR close-up lenses make it possible to employ the camera in applications involving shorter object distances.
- The SWIR close-up lenses also make it possible to employ the camera in applications involving shorter object distances.
- Hyperspectral cameras record images using a wide portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. Their sensors precisely measure spectral data at tens or hundreds of wavebands for each image pixel simultaneously which then combined to form a three dimensional composite image.
- The resultant images or hyperspectral cubes allow definitive, deep layer analysis of the materials or minerals which make up the scanned area.

Airborne Computer
Tentative specifications for the airborne computer are listed below. The computer is a turn-key solution and all necessary software and drivers as well as hardware (including frame grabber, frequency divider, I/O device) will be installed and correctly configured on the computer.
Ultra-compact airborne computer With a weight of only 4.5 kg and a power consumption of 50 W, the ultra-compact data acquisition units (DAUs) are ideal for small aircrafts and UAVs. To ensure the stability and reliability of the system, SSDs are standard in airborne HySpex DAUs.
The photo above shows the ultra-compact DAU, HySpex VNIR-1600 and a trans-reflective touch-screen. The total power consumption of this system is less than 75 W.
Small airborne computer:
For other airborne applications where the computer size and mass are of special importance, a small airborne computer is also available
The main characteristics for this computer are:
Note: The specifications are tentative and may be improved if better hardware is available at the time of production....
Touch Screen
A high performance touch screen from ELO is normally delivered for airborne operations, as the airborne data acquisition software is designed for a touch screen interface....
IMU/GPS
A GPS/IMU system continuously logging the position and attitude of the HySpex sensor is essential in order to perform precise georeferencing of airborne hyperspectral imagery.
NEO can deliver complete airborne systems with IMU/GPS unit from well-established manufacturers such as iMAR GmbH, IGI mbH, Applanix and NovAtel Inc.
NEO's standard airborne system employs the iTrace RT-F200 IMU/GPS system from iMAR GmbH, which has the following main specifications:
Fiber optic gyro technology (FO).
Output of angular rate, acceleration, attitude, true heading, CoG, velocity and position via USB in real-time with 200 Hz (adjustable)
2 cm position accuracy, 0.01° roll/pitch/ heading,< 1 mg acceleration and 0.02 m/s velocity accuracy with RTK L1/L2 DGPS.
HySpex systems can easily interface and synchronize with most standard IMU/GPS systems, potentially saving some cost for customers who already have a GPS/IMU system available for use with other sensors....
Post Processing Software
NEO can deliver the following software with an airborne system:
PARGE for direct geocoding and orthorectification.
ATCOR 4 for atmospheric and topographic correction for wide FOV airborne optical scanner data...
VNIR FOV Expander
The VNIR field expander doubles the pixel FOV (along and across track) as well as the total FOV of the camera (to 34 degrees). The field expander is easily mounted onto the camera by the user.
Prior to delivery, the camera will be calibrated with the field expander....
Stabilized Mounts
The Leica PAV80 is a gyrostabilized mount used in NEOs high-end airborne systems. The purpose of this platform is to support the aerial equipment and to compensate for the rotations (roll, pitch, and yaw movements) of the airplane during photo runs. It is a Gyro-Stabilized Mount for a dynamic stabilization of the equipment....
Laboratory Computer
The computer is a turn-key solution and all necessary software and drivers as well as hardware (including frame grabber, frequency divider, I/O device) will be installed and correctly configured on the computer....
Laboratory Rack
A dedicated rack for the HySpex camera yields a convenient set-up for analyzing samples in the lab. Two racks are available for the HySpex cameras...
Tripod
The tripod, with pan-tilt head, is a commercial product with the capacity of supporting two HySpex cameras...
Translation Stages
In addition to the translation stages dedicated to the two lab racks, custom made versions up to 2840 mm can be delivered....
Industrial Computer
The computer is a turn-key solution, all necessary software, drivers and hardware (including frame grabber, frequency divider, I/O device) will be installed and correctly configured on the computer....
Lamps
For the wavelength range 400 to 1700 nm, covering the VNIR cameras and the SWIR-320i, a 150 W illumination system can be delivered. This source features a DC regulation scheme providing stable light output intensity, eliminating output fluctuations caused by alternating current or changes in line voltage....
Close-up Lenses
For most applications, the HySpex cameras without close-up lenses yield acceptable image sharpness at object distances above approximately 25 meters.
Close-up lenses are as a standard available for 30 cm, 100 cm and 300 cm object distance. Customized distances are available upon request...
